And thank you for your interest in our Academy.  Our unique martial and healing art offers both the beginner and advanced, the young and the young at heart a lifelong experience of fun, learning and challenge.  In a disciplined yet family friendly atmosphere, the Hwa Rang Do Champaign Academy proudly offers training in today's most comprehensive martial art system - "Hwa Rang Do®"

Our Instructors have many years of experience teaching all age ranges from Little Tigers 3-6, to youth 7-13, to adults of all ages and abilities.  As you explore our web site and the related Hwa Rang Do web sites you will gain a greater understanding of the depth and breadth of this unique art.  Of the many aspects, we hope you will see that Hwa Rang Do is more than just an effective means of self-defense, it is a way for individuals of any age to develop fully as human beings:  body, mind and heart as we explore our relationship with each other and the natural world.

In order to facilitate this quest for personal growth, the Champaign Academy has a beautiful facility well equipped for our students to excel in this multi-faceted martial art. 

When you attend your first class, you’ll practice in our training area which is over 1300 square feet, completely matted, has 13 foot tall ceilings, full size mirrors and a stage so students may see the instructor more clearly.  In addition to our decorations and weapon racks, we have a music system to help with high intensity workouts, heavy bags, pads, mitts, and other training aids that our staff creatively utilize for unique workouts.  For more advanced ground fighting, tumbling and falling practice we also have additional folding mats.

Students are encouraged to get to class early to lightly stretch out and review material after they have changed in our locker area with its changing rooms and two bathrooms.

 

Parents and guests are allowed to quietly observe class from our spectator viewing area, although some prefer to relax in our easy chairs in the guest area. We also encourage students and guests to browse our selection of Hwa Rang Do books, videos and merchandise in our equipment section.
